The Covington County Sheriff’s Posse is one step closer financially to a new tracking dog.

Commissioners voted Monday to donate $1,000 to the posse to help purchase a search/tracking dog.

Last week, Joe Barton, a posse member, said the bloodhound is $8,000.

Donations can be made payable to the Covington County Sheriff’s Posse and can be dropped off at the sheriff’s department on Hillcrest Drive or sent via mail to Joe Barton, P.O. Box 926 Andalusia, AL 36420.
