The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs earned their first area win Thursday night in Ashford, winning 3-1.

Andalusia won the match 24-26, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.

“I don’t think we’re playing like we need to,” AHS coach Angie Grimes said, despite the win. “I expect more from the girls.”

Andalusia’s A.C. Riley led in assists with 35 and added 10 aces.

Shi’Amber Townsend contributed with 13 kills and 21 passes, and Ellie Pollock had 25 passes.

Andalusia improves to 2-4, 1-0 in Class 4A, Area 3.

The Lady Bulldogs will hit the road to play Opp Tues., Aug. 31 at 4 p.m., starting with the junior high team.
