MONTGOMERY (AP) — A march is planned Saturday in Montgomery to show support for the electronic bingo casinos that have been forced to shut down and to try to energize voters about the election Nov. 2.
The chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, Democratic Rep. John Rogers of Birmingham, says the march will focus on electing judges, legislators and a governor who are pro-jobs and pro-gambling.
The event begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at the state Judicial Building and then proceeds to the state Capitol steps. It’s a followup to a protest held July 16 in Montgomery by supporters of Greenetrack.
