DARRYL TAUNTON

Darryl Taunton, 49, of Brantley, passed away Tues., July 6, 2010.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., today, Fri., July 9, at the Word of Faith Church in Brantley with the Rev. Harry Driggers officiating and eulogy given by Keith Morgan.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Taunton of Brantley; sons, Michael Taunton of Maine, Darryl Lee Allen Taunton II and significant other Caitlyn Johns, both of Brantley, and David (Amber) Congdon of New York; daughters, Rhonda (Ronnie) Ayers, Crystal (Chad) Ayers and Candies (Cubby) Lane, all of New York; sisters, Paula Kilpatrick of Brantley, Tina Mayhew of Michigan, Nina Taylor of Michigan and Eden Ragsdale of Montgomery; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Priscilla Taunton.

JOHN WILLIAM “BILLY” WOOD

John William “Billy” Wood, 85, of the Carolina community, formerly of Ozark, died Thurs., July 8, 2010, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Sat., July 10, at Carolina Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Brady officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

He retired from M. O. Carroll Grocery Co. after 38 years as a salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Wood of the Carolina Community; son, Dexter (Martha) Wood of Buford, Ga.; daughter, Lisa Wood (Charlie) Hoke of Birmingham; grandchildren, Rachel (Jeff) Norris, Ryan (Erin) Wood, Charles Hoke Jr., William Hoke, and Julia Hoke; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Carolina Baptist Church.

J. B. Page of the Mt. Pisgah community died Thurs., July 8, 2010, in a local hospital. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sat., July 10, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Odom and the Rev. Greg Cotter officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Foreman’s.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Page of Andalusia; three sons, Larry (Rhonda) Page, Edwin (Bobbie) Page and Robert (Carol) Page, all of Andalusia; grandchildren, Michael Page, Michele Page, Josh Page and Chelsea Page; great-grandchild, Anniston Page; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Josh Page, Michael Page, Anthony Ammons, Farrel Whatley, Frank Whatley and Johnny Page.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mt. Pisgah Building Fund.
