Jerseys tucked in, game socks pulled high and hats fit snug on their heads, baseball and softball players will line up on Chick Earle Field on Saturday morning at the 2012 Baseball and Softball Season dedication ceremonies.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., teams will be lined up with local and county dignitaries, including Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson; Covington County Commission Chairman Lynn Sasser; members of the Covington County Commission, Brenda Petty, Lynn Ralls and Darren Capps; and the city and county recreation board.

Johnson and Sasser will throw out the “first pitch” near the end of the ceremony, and once it is finished, games will begin at 10 a.m.

The end of the regular season will conclude next week.
