Florala’s Wildcats will visit Geneva County today for a key area matchup, and coach Bubba Nall said he hopes his kids will play a good game.

The Wildcats stand at 1-1 in Class 1A, Area 2. FHS split with Kinston, but the Bulldogs won the tiebreaker game earlier this season.

“Geneva County, they’re going to be scrappy, and they play hard,” Nall said. “I just hope our kids rise up and play. When we play like we’re capable of playing, we play well. When we don’t, we shoot ourselves in the foot.”

In the end, Nall said he wants his team to be in the “mix” for a shot at playing in the playoffs.

“We’re fairly healthy,” he said. “We just need to be hot in the end. I just hope we continue to get better, and we’ll see where this thing all ends.”
