Bobcats down Carroll-Ozark

Opp (10-4) downed Carroll as Brady Vidich and Trey Short went 2-for-4 and Hayden Nobles added a triple to pace the Bobcats.
T.J. Bess, the second of three pitchers, picked up the win, pitching five innings in relief and allowing just four hits. He struck out one.
Opp, Geneva split: On Monday, Opp and Geneva split a Class 3A, Area 2 doubleheader with Opp winning the opener, 10-0, and Geneva the nightcap, 3-1.
Russell Moseley gave up only three hits and struck out four in the Bobcats’ five-inning win in the opener. T.J. Register was 2-for-4 and Trey Short had a double.
In game two, Geneva’s Scott Stough fired a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and the Panthers scored twice in the top of the seventh for the margin of victory. Chase Carnley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Jamison Roney was walked with the bases loaded for the two runs.
Short had both of Opp’s hits – both singles. Zack Morgan and Stough had a double each for Geneva.
In other action tonight, Andalusia (12-6) beat Wicksburg 5-4, and Pleasant Home beat J.U. Blacksher, 10-2.
