7 retiring from city schools

The Andalusia Board of Education took the following personnel actions Monday night:
• Approved retirements of:
— Mary Ann Lee, AMS eighth grade English teacher
— Cynthia Fallin, AMS math teacher
— Vicki Riley, AES physical education teacher
— Lisa Locklier, AES physical education teacher
— Susan Russell, AES second grade teacher
— Judy Clark, AES third grade teacher
— Jennifer Pitts, AHS guidance counselor
• Accepted the resignation of Shan Burkhardt, AES paraprofessional
• Granted leaves of absence to:
— Gwen Sightler, AES cafeteria worker
— Deborah Page, bus driver
• Granted tenure to:
— Sarah Kelley, AMS physical education teacher
— Virginia Fussell, AES fifth grade teacher
— Shae Page, AES kindergarten teacher
— Lesley Thorn, AES second grade teacher
• Transferred:
— Jill Bryant from kindergarten to second grade at AES.
— Beverly Moore from fourth grade to second grade at AES
— Kay Ingram from fifth grade to third grade at AES
— Lynn Starnes from fifth grade to second grade at AES
— Ginny Adams from kindergarten to third grade at AES
• Did not renew teaching contracts for the following non-tenured personnel:
— Sarah Catrett, AMS six grade social studies.
— Robert Watson, AHS English teacher
— William Ossenfort, AHS chemistry/physics teacher
— Heather Williams, AHS math teacher
— Sonja Crigger, AMS/AHS choral teacher
• Hired:
— Wilma Sport, AES summer food manager
— Astrid Evers, AES media specialist, replacing Hollie Krudop, who is retiring
— Kristy Martin, AES LPN, replacing Gail Mullen, who retired
— Kristen Roberts, AMS enrichment teacher
— Melinda Carrasco, RN, replacing Patsy Taylor, who retired.
