Two McKenzie men and a Wing woman have been arrested for stealing more than $13,000 from a local scrap metal business.
Chief Deputy David Anderson said deputies were called to a break-in at Pugh & Sons Inc., located on Ala. Hwy. 55 South, after it was discovered someone broke into the company’s safe.
“Investi-gators discovered that some unknown persons had gained access to the safe, which contained $13,201 and a business check,” Anderson said. “Based on evidence collected at the scene and information gathered, investigators were able to arrest William Mark Pittman Jr., Hanna Rachelle Cotton and Thomas Hunter Hutcheson.”
Pittman, 25; Cotton, 19; and Hutcheson, 22, was each charged with burglary III, theft of property I and criminal mischief II and each held on a $23,000 bond.
Pittman was also charged with violation of probation, possession of marijuana I and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in the county jail without bond.
The case is still under investigation with further charges pending, Anderson said.
