Kentucky Fried Chicken closes

Effective Monday, the Andalusia Kentucky Fried Chicken permanently closed for business.
The closing of the fast food restaurant, which is located on Hillcrest Drive, came with no warning to customers. Instead, flyers were on each window front and the drive-thru.
“Andalusia KFC permanently closed effective Mon., May 10, 2010. Thank you for your business and letting us serve you,” the sign read.
Employees were not warned of the closing either.
Former store manger Faye Loman, who was on hand Monday cleaning, said Sunday was the “official” last day of business for the restaurant.
“We’re not sure why it’s closing,” Loman said.
“We’re just here cleaning. We’re still waiting on answers.”
Calls to the corporate KFC office were not immediately returned Monday.
This is the third fast food restaurant closing in the immediate area, although one is temporary.
In December, Taco Bell shut its doors. In March, the Andalusia McDonald’s was demolished to make room for a new restaurant, which is set to re-open sometime this month.
