The AHS Outstanding Graduate Committee is accepting nominations for the 2010 award, to be presented at homecoming next fall.
Committee chairperson Suan Riley Salter said nominations received in the past will be included in this year’s selection process.
“We have a number of nominations already in the process,” she said. She also issued a challenge: In the three years that the award has been presented, no one has nominated a woman for the award.
Nominations should include information about the nominee’s education, career, awards and accomplishments, and should also state why the individual is a role model for current AHS students and why the nominator feels the nominee should be recognized.
To request an application, please contact John Thompson at city hall or by email at john.thomson@cityofandalusia.com. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 1. Nominations should be mailed to Mrs. Suan Salter, P. O. Box 27634, Panama City, FL 32411.
For additional information, one also may contact Dr. Beverly McAnulty, the superintendent of education; Dr. Daniel Shakespeare, Andalusia High School principal; Mayor Earl Johnson or Mrs. Salter at 850-236-8214.
