32 plead guilty to charges in February

Thirty-six cases were disposed of in February when 32 individuals entered guilty pleas, according a press release from the Covington County District Attorney’s office.
Nineteen of those cases were drug-related charges. Twenty of the defendants received prison time, while five were sentenced to probation and five went to drug court. Six have hearings set for probation application..
Below is the list of the cases:
• Alford, James R. – Pled guilty to possession of a forged Instrument II. Sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Attorney David Baker, prosecutor Walt Merrell.

• Blue, Ciji Renee – Pled guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Entered into Drug Court. Attorney Grady Lanier, prosecutor Emmett Massey.
• Bozeman, Caressa Lynn – Pled guilty to unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance. Sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Attorney Bill Alverson, prosecutor Emmett Massey.
• Bozeman, Caressa Lynn – Pled guilty to unlawful possession of marijuana I. Sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Attorney Deb Smith, prosecutor Emmett Massey.
• Brandon, Marshall Eugene – Pled guilty to use of false identity to obstruct justice. Sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Attorney Corey Bryan, prosecutor Walt Merrell.
• Brock, Evan Daniel – Pled guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Sentenced to five years imprisonment. Attorney Chris Sledge, prosecutor Emmett Massey.
• Brooks, Ronald Edward III – pled guilty to receiving stolen property II. Sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Attorney Larry Grissett, prosecutor Grace Jeter.
• Brooks, Ronald Edward III – pled guilty to theft of property I. Sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Attorney Manish Patel, prosecutor Grace Jeter.
• Davis, Christopher Eliot – pled to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. Attorney Corey Bryan, prosecutor Emmett Massey.
• Gordon, Garrell McKinley – pled to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Sentenced to 32 months probation. Attorney Gypsy Smith, prosecutor Emmett Massey.

• Owens, Frankie Lee, Jr. – Pled guilty to unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and 15 years imprisonment for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
