Opp falls

The Opp Bobcats ended their season Friday night, falling to Pike County 49-47 in the semifinals of the Class 3A, Area 2 tournament in Luverne.

“I’m proud of my kids for playing hard,” OHS coach Ronnie Sansom said. “They played until the very last second. They left everything on the floor.”

Sansom said the team missed some opportunities during the game, but “I’m proud of their effort.”

Opp and Pike County were even at 9-9 after the first period, and the Bulldogs led 24-22 at half time.

The Bobcats outscored PCHS 11-10 in the third period.

Derek Savage led Opp with 16 points, and Tavise Stoudemire had 13 points.

The Bobcats finished their season 7-17.
