On Tues., Jan. 12, fifth grader Sim Bowden won the Andalusia Elementary School 2010 Spelling Bee and Sadie Brown was second.

There were 24 participants from the fourth and fifth grades.

Students participating from fourth grade classrooms were Olivia Amerson, Shaniqua Benson, Will Clark, Steadman Glenn, Elicia Higgins, Millie Manring, Kiyah Moody, Kami Price, Conner Sowards, Valerie Tomberlin, Callen Woodard, Christian Wossilek. Fifth grade students were Nick Bedsole, Sim Bowden, Sadie Brown, Rachel Dayton, Caleb Evers, Tyler Garvin, Haley Harper, Josie Higgins, Jamal Mason, Adam Peek, Tre’Mayne Stoudemire, Caleb Whitehurst.
