James E. “Luke’’ Jackson, 89 of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., April 15, 2010, in a Destin, Fla., assisted living home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sun., April 18, at Keahey Funeral Home. The Rev. John Hunt and the Rev. Brent Cook will officiate. Special music will be by Blaine Wilson. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Sat., April 17, at Keahey Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty King of Andalusia; stepson and daughter-in-law,
Rudy (Cathy Brown) King of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye (Carmon) Yell of Andalusia; and stepdaughter, Tammy (Gary) McKay of Andalusia; his brothers, J. C. Sasser of Andalusia and Douglas Sasser of Andalusia; a sister, Juanita Deloach of Stateline, Miss.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Paul, Don Wilson, John Butts, Brent Cook, Willie Shakespear and Aaron Bush.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Henderson, Lehn Diamond, Clyde Barlow, Wayne Smothermon, Ken Gibson, and Rodney Pierce.
He was a member of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
Mr. Jackson started Jackson Used Car Business more than 60 years ago and Jackson Honda more than 45 years ago and remained an active part of the business until his health declined in July 2009.
