Two Florala High School baseball players recently attended the Seminole Advanced Baseball School. Mark Geohagan and Dustin Anderson attended the baseball school, which is designed to teach advanced skills and strategies of baseball.

It is an intense week of baseball for the advanced player who sincerely desires to learn and improve his skills through instruction, drills and competition in controlled game experiences. The watchful eye of professional scouts, college and junior college coaches evaluate each player for their own professional interests.

Conducted on the campuses of Florida State University and Tallahassee Community College as well as area high school fields, the Seminole Advanced Baseball School, is the "premier instructional baseball school in the country."

The school has been a setting for professional scouts and college coaches to see high school talent for the first time in a competitive atmosphere. Recent classes have produced 13 first-round draft picks by Major League Baseball organizations, plus additional draft picks. Collegiate All-Americans; College World Series participants as well as additional solid college players have attended the school. The school is fast becoming a national and international

baseball school attended by players from more than

26 states and several foreign countries.

Geohagan, a junior attending Florala High School whom is active in all sports attended the school. He recently returned from the University of Alabama Quarterback Camp, in hopes of leading the Wildcats to a winning season this year. He is the son of Steve and Rhonda Geohagan of Florala.

Also attending the baseball school is Dustin Anderson, a sophomore at Florala High School, whom was selected in 2001 for the Roberto Clemente School of baseball in Puerto Rico, the 600 players selected from around the nation have shown excellent skills and a desire to further enhance their skills, a course for the player whom takes his baseball to the next level. Dustin is the son of Victor and Kim Anderson of Florala.

With all but one returning next year to Florala's baseball team they are hoping to provide the leadership and share the skills they have learned to have a successful season.
