Emily Earlene Hutto
Emily Earlene Hutto, 83, of Andalusia, died Saturday, August 10, 2002 at her residence.
A funeral was held Tuesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. at Carolina Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Bridgette Griffin; a great-grandson, Taylor Griffin; two sisters, Ruth Walker, all of Andalusia and Verna Gortman of Wewahitchka, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Hutto; a son, Larry Hutto; two daughters, Lana Johnson and Jennifer Hutto; a grandson, John Wesley Hutto.
Pallbearers were Scotty Gortman, Victor Gortman, Gordon Helms, Rex Helms, Craig Helms and Hagler Ward.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Lawson, Joe Helms and D.C. Lambert.
Thelma Frances Worley
Thelma Frances Worley, 65, of Dozier, died Friday, August 9, 2002 in an Ozark hospital.
A funeral was held Tuesday, August 13 at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. John Padgett and Rev. Wayne Etheridge officiating. Special music was provided by the family.
Survivors include her husband, William Worley of Dozier; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Mary Jo Worley of Dozier; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Mike Jensen of New Brockton; a brother, Eugene Pugh; a sister, Evelyn McCartha, both of Greenville; a granddaughter, Erica Jensen; and two grandsons, Michael Jensen and Preston Worley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Barbara Pugh; and a son, Laron Worley.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Beasley, Pete Worley, Jason Sasser, Bo Sims, Harold Halford and Phillip Jensen.
Veleita Hicks Dickens
Veleita Hicks Dickens, 78, of Andalusia, died Monday, August 12, 2002 in a Troy Hospital.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 14, at 2 p.m. at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, David Daniel White of Andalusia; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Hutto and Felisha Ann (Gary) Wages both of Andalusia; six grandchildren, Jon White, Shane Hutto, Leigh Anne Ralls, Shelley Wages, Samantha Wages and Jamie Wages; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sanford Hicks of Starke, Fla., Robert Hicks of Harlem, Ga., Ned Hicks of Franklin, N.C.; two sisters, Mary McGlaun and Eunice Browder both of Andalusia.
Visitation will be after noon Wednesday until services.
Otis George Sanders
Otis George Sanders, 97, of Opp died Monday, August 12, 2002 in an Opp hospital.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 15 at Foreman Funeral Home with Elder Edward G. Morgan and Rev. Ed Russell. Burial will follow in Rawls Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, Pervis Sanders of Sarasota, Fla., Omer Neil Sanders of Andalusia; Billie Ray Sanders of Opp, James Earl Sanders of Kinston, Jerry Sanders of Andalusia; four daughers, Emma Ree Hilburn of Andalusia, Erma Nell Morgan of Pensacola, Fla., Beulah Mae Ramer of Opp, Jo Ann Kirby of Andalusia; 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Foremans.
