Red Level’s Dee Tolbert gave his team a spark early in the first period, and the Tigers held on late to beat Elba 61-59 on Tuesday night at RLS.

“We had a good first half, and then in the second half, we had a lot of defensive break downs,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said. “We found a way to win.”

The Tigers led 22-16 at the end of the first period, and 36-27 at half time.

Red Level was outscored 32-25 in the second half, but held on late in the win.

“We didn’t rebound real well, and we didn’t attack the ball defensively like we should have,” Catrett said. “We had a lot of second chance opportunities and didn’t take advantage.”

Three Red Level players finished in double figures. Tolbert led all scorers with 15 points; KJ Lawrence had 14 points; and James Feagin had 10 points. Troy Nolen had eight points.
