The Andalusia Pee-Wee Bulldogs fell to 1-1 on the season in youth football action via a loss to the Red Level Tigers on Saturday.

Andalusia's Kevin Anderson started the Bulldogs off on the right foot with an interception he returned 20 yards late in the first quarter. The Bulldogs, however, could not capitalize on the turnover.

The Bulldogs took the lead with 4:32 left to play in the first half when Kenneth Chambers rushed for 45 yards on a sweep for the Bulldogs' first touchdown. The conversion failed and Andalusia had a 6-0 lead.

The Red Level Tigers scored on a second-down play with 3:40 left in the half when Terrance Marshall scored from 56 yards out. Torey Cobb added a two-point conversion for the Tigers for an 8-6 lead.

Andalusia managed five offensive plays before giving the ball back to the Tigers on a turnover with 20 seconds left in the first half. Blake Pate intercepted a James Hogg pass and raced 75 yards for a touchdown. The score gave the Tigers a 14-6 halftime advantage.

The third quarter was scoreless as both teams played stiff defense.

Andalusia had possession of the ball at the start of the fourth quarter and fullback C.J. Woods scored from 25 yards out to trim Red Level's lead to 14-12 with 7:42 left in the game.

Late in the quarter, with four minutes left to play, Red Level's Shane Turner intercepted Andrew Veasey's pass at the 36-yard line. On first down, Terrance Marshall scored and the conversion was good to give Red Level a 22-12 lead.

The Bulldogs took over possession of the pigskin with 2:06 remaining in regulation and moved the ball to midfield before time ran out.

Defensive highlights for the Bulldogs included Justin Ainsworth's four solo tackles, Justin Knight's three stops, David Dove's three tackles and one pass break up. Also, Christopher Kelly had one solo tackle for the Bulldogs.

On offense, C.J. Woods paced the Bulldogs with 75 yards rushing with Kenneth Chambers adding 65 yards and Kevin Anderson rushed for 26. Ryan Godwin passed for 38 yards and rushed for eight. Brent Shiver also rushed the ball for the Bulldogs on offense.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-1 on the season. Andalusia returns to action Saturday night when they host the Florala Wildcats.
