Twenty-five days after he fell on the back of his head and neck at the 14th annual Red Level Christmas tournament, senior James Feagin was back out on the court Friday night playing like he never left.
“I was glad to see him back out there,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said. “Everybody was glad to have him back on the court with them.”
With the added inspiration, RLS went on to beat Samson 57-43 to remain undefeated in Class 2A, Area 2 at 4-0. The Tigers will play host to Elba — who is also 4-0 in the area — on Tuesday night.
Red Level’s Justin Maddox had 14 points and seven rebounds; Dee Tolbert had 12 points; KJ Lawrence had nine points; Spencer Stallworth had eight points; Troy Nolen had six points; and Feagin had four points.
When asked if Feagin played conservative after coming back from suffering a concussion and tearing ligaments in his neck.
“He’s instinctive,” he said. “He played like he normally does.”
The Tigers improved to 14-7 on the season, and Friday night’s win was the ninth win out of 10 ball games for RLS.
In girls action, the Lady Tigers fell 60-22.
