Girl says ‘thanks’

My name is Elizabeth Stinson. I live with my granny, Bobbie Kirkland, and I want to thank y’all for all the nice stuff I got for Christmas. Thanks to the people at JR’s Lawnmower Shop for all my clothes and Hannah Montana stuff. Toby finally came home from McKenzie (sp). I still want to be a Christian. I love God, my church, my granny and Brother Bill who preaches at Southside in Andalusia.
Thank y’all for listening.

Editor’s note: Elizabeth’s letter to Santa, which was printed in a special edition of The Star-News, elicited an outpouring of community support after she asked Santa for someone to come help clean her granny’s yard; to bring her Boston terrier, Toby, back home after he ran away, and to bring her an Auburn jogging suit. Local readers – who asked to remain anonymous – turned out by the droves to make her Christmas wishes come true.
