The Red Level Lady Tigers battled back from an early 4-0 deficit in high school softball action to earn an 8-7 win against the Highland Home Flying Squadron on Monday.
The Lady Tigers earned the win on their home diamond after watching the Flying Squadron score four runs in the top of the first inning.
The Lady Tigers answered with three runs in the bottom of the first inning when Randi Coleman, Brittany Watson and Victoria Ferrell scored.
Highland Home tacked on another run in the top of the second inning for a 5-3 lead.
Red Level fans, however, had plenty to cheer about in the bottom of the second inning as the Lady Tigers scored three runs to take a 6-5 lead.
Coleman and Watson reached on singles.
They both scored when Daphne Crittenden blasted a two-RBI triple that just missed being a home run.
Crittenden would not be denied and scored later in the inning to give the Lady Tigers a one-run lead.
Watson scored her third run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the lead back to Red Level after Highland Home had knotted the score at 6-6.
Watson scored her fourth run of the game, and the eventual game-winning run, in the bottom of the sixth inning after reaching base when she was hit by a pitch.
Crittenden once again played a key role in the run with an RBI-single in the inning.
Highland Home failed to score in the top of the seventh inning as the Red Level Lady Tigers held on for an 8-7 victory.
The Red Level squad returns to action on Thursday when the Lady Tigers are slated to travel to Pleasant Home and take on the Lady Eagles at 4 p.m.
