Andalusia got stronger as the first-round playoff game against the Rehobeth Rebels progressed, scoring eight runs in the final two innings, for a 9-1 victory.

The Bulldogs will host Holt for a second-round game on Saturday.

Andalusia went on top in the first inning against Rehobeth with Neal Patterson reaching on a single and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Wilson. Daniel Wall moved Patterson into scoring position with a single.

The Rebels knotted the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The game remained tied until the Bulldog bats woke up in the top of the sixth inning.

A three-run surge gave Andalusia a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. Wall, Wesley Liles (as a courtesy runner for Wilson) and Cole Sightler all scored in the sixth inning for Andalusia. Wall scored when Sightler bunted and the Rehobeth third baseman booted the ball.

Liles and Sightler scored when Andrew Harry delivered a two-RBI double.

The error by the third baseman and Harry's big hit were signs.

The Bulldogs held Rehobeth scoreless in the bottom of the sixth and then scored five runs in the top of the seventh for a 9-1 lead.

The third baseman for Rehobeth once again helped the Bulldogs by making an error. In fact, he made two in the seventh inning. Harry also played a key role for the Bulldogs in the last inning with another two-RBI double.

Wall started the inning by drawing a walk. Wilson followed with a bunt that was mishandled by the third baseman. Liles came in as a courtesy runner for Wilson.

Sightler loaded the bases for Harry when he was hit by a pitch. Harry once again delivered with a

two-RBI double.

Jacob "Worm" McCollough followed him with a bunt that the third baseman booted. Patterson followed him with a two-RBI double.

Rehobeth failed to score in the bottom of the seventh as the Bulldogs held on for a 9-1 victory.

Wilson was the winning pitcher. He pitched a complete game allowing one run on five hits and six walks. He struck out 11.

The Bulldogs are now 17-11 on the season and will host a second-round playoff game against Holt on Saturday.
