Meredith’s Miracles is looking for sponsors for its 19th annual Cookies with Characters at the Covington Center Arena and Kiwanis Building on Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23.

Since Meredith’s Miracles began in 2005, its foundation has funded a total of $1,523,326.20 for families in need. The organization funded 1,396 medical trips for children in 2024 totaling $270,420.75.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 19th year. This event promises to be the most entertaining weekend of the year. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend, you’re truly missing out,” Meredith’s Miracles Executive Director Kiley Spears said.

There are 11 sponsor levels that range from $150 to $5,000. New sponsors this year include a Mickey’s safari encounter with a kangaroo for $1,500 and a train ride for $750. Sponsorship forms must be completed no later than Tuesday, Feb. 18.

“With the funds raised, we are able to assist numerous children with medical needs who must travel for treatments, appointments, surgeries, and more. We provide essential support for food, gas, and lodging for every approved trip outside our area. I witness firsthand the difference we can make in the lives of these children thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. I truly love my job and take great pride in the positive impact we have on these families,” she said.

Doors will open for the first Saturday show at 11 a.m. before the show starts at noon. Doors will open for the second Saturday show at 4 p.m. before the show starts at 5 p.m. Doors will open for the Sunday show at 2 p.m. before the show starts at 3 p.m. General seating tickets are $10 and preferred seating tickets are $15.

“I wish I had a magic wand and could just simply wave it for $500,000 at the beginning of the year, which would alleviate my concerns about where the next dollar will come from. The constant pressure to secure funds for the children weighs heavily on me. Our fundraising efforts through the Thrift Shop, Cookies with Characters, Candyland, and our year-end campaign are never guaranteed. The pursuit of funding for a non-profit organization is relentless, and I feel the stress of ensuring we can provide for all the children in need. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has ever supported Meredith’s Miracles. Your donations and sponsorships mean the world to us as they signify your belief in our mission. Together, we truly make a difference in the lives of each child we assist,” Spears said.
