Glen Zorn was recently re-appointed as the At-Large Director for Covington County on the Board of Directors of the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority (CPYRWMA). Probate Judge Stacy B. Brooks administered the Oath of Office to him Oct. 22, 2024, at a ceremony held at the Covington County Courthouse in Andalusia.

Zorn is a founding member of the agency and served as Assistant Commissioner for the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries. He also is a former mayor of Florala and an avid support of agribusiness.

“Our Board is grateful for his service and looking forward to the contributions Glen will continue to make to the agency because of his many years of dedicated service to his community and his appreciation of the natural resources,” said Lisa Harris, Executive Director of the CPYRWMA.

The CPYRWMA is a state agency that is responsible for developing plans and programs relating to water resource management in the areas of water quality, water quantity, flood control, and water conservation education.

The river basin covers 2.3 million acres in southeast Alabama. The CPYRWMA is non-regulatory and governed by a sixteen-member Board of Directors selected from the 10 southeastern counties that is appointed by the Soil & Water Conservation District in each county.
