One local mother started off her new year with a bundle of joy as Taylor Breanne Holloway of Opp welcomed her new baby boy to the world.

Aaron Jace “AJ” Holloway was born as the first baby of 2025 at Andalusia Health on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 1:13 p.m. According to hospital records, AJ weighed 6 pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

“Having my son is the best gift and blessing to start off a new year! I’m truly grateful to be a mother because it allows me to experience the unconditional love and joy of raising my kids, watching their growth and development, creating a strong bond, and having the opportunity to positively influence their lives,” Holloway said.

AJ’s maternal grandparents are Diane and Britt Childers of Opp. He has an older brother, Braydon Dale Inman.

According to Holloway, she took a different approach to choosing the name of her son.

“It took me writing all the many names that I liked. I put them all into a box and drew one name at our baby shower. Aaron Jace is what we got, and we couldn’t be happier with our pick,” she said.
