Bobcats will meet tournament host Andalusia with spot in championship game on the line

The Opp Bobcats advanced in the Richard Robertson Christmas Tournament with a first-round victory of Red Level, 70-29.

Connor Powers led the Bobcats early, scoring seven and hitting a three-pointer, to lift Opp to a 17-6 lead after one period.

Red Level’s Buddy Griffin warmed up the second period with a three and seven total points, but the Bobcats took a 34-20 edge into halftime.

Opp went on to outscore the Tigers 36-9 in the second half to earn the win.

D.J. Hines led the Bobcats with 17 points while Powers and Damirian Thompson each finished with 11.

Justin Patterson led the Tigers with nine points while Griffin added eight.

Red Level plays Monroe County in the seventh place game on Friday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m. Opp will play Andalusia at 8 p.m. in the semi-finals.
