Michael Dewayne Stewart of Dozier passed away in a Birmingham hospital.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, Dec. 1, 1 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chester Watson officiated.
Left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mary B. Hooks; daughter, Micha McCormick (Scott) of Troy; sister, Sue Jackson (Ray) of Opp; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three stepdaughters; one nephew; four nieces; aunts; uncles; and a lot of cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, “Hero” Hooks.
Michael was a “loner” and a very private person. He loved his daughter and grandchildren with all his heart. He loved his mother for always being there for him and all she did for him. Michael loved to garden and be outside. He loved fishing, hunting, going camping, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He was a 1990 graduate of Red Level High School and one of his favorite jobs was being a “food runner” for the Paula Deen Restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, please make monetary contributions to assist his mother or to the charity of one’s choice.
