The Full Tummy Project of Covington County is seeking assistance from the local community in the fight against childhood food insecurity through a holiday and end-of-year giving campaign.
Katie King and Jenny Pate co-founded the Full Tummy Project in 2014. Now in its 10th year, the organization provides bags of food to over 560 children who are at risk of hunger on the weekends during the school year.
“We want to thank you for your past support through your contributions of prayer, volunteer hours, and monetary donations. With your help, the Full Tummy Project has been able to serve a record number of K-6 students this year in all seven elementary schools in our county. We need your help now more than ever. With rising inflation, supply chain shortages, and lack of resources for proper nutrition, our most vulnerable population is facing greater hardship than ever,” King said.
Every dollar donated goes to purchase non-perishable, shelf-stable breakfast, lunch, and dinner items for recipients. Visit https://ftpcc.betterworld.org/donate or mail a check to The Full Tummy Project, P.O. Box 211, Andalusia, AL 36420. All gifts received are tax-deductible as The Full Tummy Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
“With your help, we can eradicate hunger for children facing food insecurity in Covington County. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your support,” King added.
Community volunteers are always needed to pack bags bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 5 p.m.
