Jed Blackwell was sworn in by Circuit Judge Ben Bowden as a board member for the Covington County Board of Education on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Blackwell will serve a six-year term with his first meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9, at noon.

A 1996 Florala High School alumnus, he is married to his wife Heather Blackwell, who is a kindergarten teacher at Red Level School. They are the parents of a son, Connor, and a daughter, Caroline, who are students at Red Level.
