One lane of East Three Notch Street is expected to be closed in the coming days to allow for repairs to a building located at the intersection of Antioch Road.

Studio 101, located at 1608 E. Three Notch St., at the intersection was damaged when a car left the roadway and struck the building in December 2023.

According to Charles Baldwin of Advantage Contracting, the right lane of E. Three Notch, traveling toward the intersection of the Bypass, could be closed as soon as Wednesday, Nov. 20 and remain closed for the remainder of the week, and possibly into the following week.

“We are working hand-in-hand with the city to assist with the lane closure,” Baldwin said. “We are working as much at night as we can, but there will be a few days that it will impede traffic during the day.”

The lane closure is expected to be from approximately the location of Church’s Chicken down to the right turn lane onto the Bypass.

Advantage Contracting, which is a locally owned company, is leading the effort to restore the structural integrity of the building, including a new roof and renovating portions of the inside. The head engineer on the project is Gary Tillman.

“We are basically restoring the building from the damage that was done,” Baldwin said. “We are a locally-owned and woman-owned company and the entire project is being done with other local subcontractors.”

Advantage Contracting is working with the owners of Studio 101, a salon on gym, to allow the salon to remain open while the repairs are done. The gym will reopen following the renovations.
