An Opp man was killed Sunday after the bike he was riding was struck by a vehicle, according to Opp officials.

William Jad Davis, 54, of Opp was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Opp Police Department and Opp Fire Department responded to a call regarding a vehicle striking the bicyclist on Hwy. 84 Bypass near the Walding Road intersection. The call came in Sunday at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Davis was cycling in the eastbound traffic lane when he was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The accident remains under investigation by the Opp Police Department.
