Ruby Annette Pettis of Gantt passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, in a Dothan hospital.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2 p.m., at West Highland Assembly of God Church. The family received friends on Monday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home. Rev. Stacey Gaston officiated. Interment followed in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Keith Varner, Terry Pettis, Timmy Pettis, Chris Canant, Darrell Baker, and Zack Folmar.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronald Pettis; father, Ollie “Galford” Henderson of Gantt; daughter, Alisha Dahl (Joey) of Andalusia; son, Russell Pettis (Meagan) of Kinston; grandchildren, Sierra Berry, Andrew Berry, Tori Pettis, Summer Pettis, Riley Pettis, and Hadley Pettis; sisters, Carolyn Harris and Lawrescia Ammons, both of Andalusia; and a brother, Ladon Ammons of Pensacola.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Henderson; a son, Dewayne Pettis; and stepmother, Bertha Henderson.
She loved attending church, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
