Covington County officials announce the temporary closure of a quarter-mile section of Murray Road, starting at 5 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2024. This closure is necessary to prepare the road for paving as part of ongoing improvements.

Residents located between Point A Road and the Bush Residence will retain access to exit via Point A Road. However, residents of Hideaway Harbor will need to exit via Cross Road to County Road 82 (Gantt Red Level Road) during this time.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to residents and commuters. Our team is working diligently to ensure the road is based and ready for paving, and we aim to complete this portion as swiftly as possible,” county officials said in a press release. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work to improve local infrastructure.”

Pending progress, Murray Road is expected to reopen on Nov. 6, 2024, allowing the project to move forward efficiently.
