The Andalusia Bulldogs were on a bye for the final week of the regular season, but received news they would be moving up to the second seed in Class 5A, Region 2.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association announced Friday that Charles Henderson High School’s football program has been fined and will placed on probation for one year due to playing an eligible player in violation of the transfer rule.

In addition, Charles Henderson forfeits all games the ineligible player participated in, including five region wins over Andalusia, Eufaula, Greenville, Headland and Carroll-Ozark. The team was the second seed in the region behind Montgomery Catholic.

With the additional region win added to Andalusia’s record, the Bulldogs are now the second seed meaning the first-round playoff game will be held at Bulldog Stadium. Andalusia’s record is updated to 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the region.

Instead of traveling to Beauregard for a rematch with the Hornets, the Bulldogs will host Elmore County, the third seed in Region 4. The Hornets are 6-2 overall and 4-2 in their region. Beauregard is a common regular season opponent with Elmore County dropping that contest, 31-13, while the Bulldogs came back to win their matchup, 28-27.
