Thomas (Tom) Watson Carroll Jr., formerly of Andalusia, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport, Alabama. He was 73 years of age.
A native of Andalusia, he graduated from Andalusia High School in 1969. He played trombone in the marching band. A self-taught guitar player, he also performed in a rock-and-roll band with some of his school friends.
Carroll attended Troy University then known as Troy State, where he was a member of the marching band and participated in track. He had a career in construction, working mainly as a drywall finisher in Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Pennsylvania.
He is survived by a brother, Andrew B. Carroll of Tuscaloosa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Carroll Sr. and Vivian W. Carroll, and a brother, David A. Carroll.
No formal service is scheduled. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to noon at Foreman Funeral Home. He will be interred privately at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Andalusia.
