Mrs. Sybil Merlene Hughes, age 89, of Dozier passed from this life at her home in Dozier on Oct. 14, 2024.

Graveside services for Mrs. Hughes will be on Saturday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m., at Good Hope Cemetery, with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Johnny) Lawson of Titus, Alabama, and Debi Curry of Dozier; two sons, Terry (Stacey) Hughes of Andalusia and Jerry (Joye) Hughes of Auburn; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donnie Ray (Brenda) Sasser of Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hughes.

Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be Joel Hughes, Tra Curry, Mackenzie Curry, Matt Lawson, Cody Hughes, and Hobie Hughes.
