The family of Dr. David McCalman and officials with the Andalusia City School System recognized the late Dr. David McCalman during a pregame ceremony officially naming the press box at Bulldog Stadium the “Dr. David M. McCalman Press Box” on Friday, Oct. 11.

McCalman was elected to a fourth term as a member of the Andalusia City Schools Board of Education in 2023. He was first elected in 2010. In addition, McCalman was known as a voice of Bulldog Football during WAAO Radio’s Friday night broadcasts. As a medical doctor, he served patients in Andalusia for over three decades.

A special video was played on the stadium jumbotron during the ceremony in his honor. It contained footage from previous Andalusia football games with several radio calls from McCalman.
