Among those in attendance were Owners Dawn and John Thompson, cutting the ribbon; Norma and Charles Jackson, John David Jackson, Jody and Nicole Jackson, Ramona Barlow, Stephen Caton; AACC Executive Director Mellisa King, left of ribbon; AACC Director of Membership Services Maggie Holmes, right of ribbon; Chamber President Jennifer McClung; and Chamber board members Katie Tyler Caffey, Katherine Jones, Sarah McClung, Jill Prevett, Hayden Raines, and Michelle Wunsh.

“We are truly grateful for the overwhelming support you showed at the grand opening of Chantilly House. Seeing so many familiar faces in attendance filled our hearts with joy and warmth. Your presence made the occasion not just memorable but a beautiful celebration of community and togetherness. Thank you for believing in our vision and for being a part of this exciting new chapter,” Chantilly House owners Dawn and John Thompson said.

Located at 402 South Three Notch Street in Andalusia, Chantilly House is an event venue for banquets, meetings, weddings, parties, and showers.

Built by the Frierson family in 1895, the home is a historic Andalusia landmark with over 4,000 square feet. The home was then owned by the Mount and Stewart families. In the early 1940s, Emmett and Johnnie Foreman bought the home and converted it into Foreman Funeral Home. According to Thompson, the family resided on the left side with the funeral home on the right side.

In 1964, Merle and Henry Jones bought the home and moved Town and Country from the square into the house. Pat and John Thompson bought it in 1990 and have owned it since then. The local St. Michael’s Anglican Church used the home for services until 2023.

Rates are Sunday through Thursday for $300 per day and Friday and Saturday for $500 per day. The weekend rate from Friday through Sunday is $800. Chantilly House contains 14 rooms each with a historic name. An hourly rate with a two-hour minimum is $100.00. Tables and chairs are included in all rentals.

“We deeply appreciate your encouragement and enthusiasm, which have been invaluable to us. We look forward to welcoming you back for many more shared moments and cherished memories in the future,” Dawn and John Thompson added.
