Andalusia earned an area split against Greenville and Brewbaker Tech in recent volleyball action.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 13-5 overall and 3-2 in 5A Area 3 with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-12) sweep at Greenville on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and a 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-11, 25-14) home loss to Brewbaker Tech on Thursday, Oct. 3.

“We got off to a very sluggish start in Greenville and need to continue to work on maintaining consistency. Brewbaker Tech is a very good volleyball team, and we played them well in the first two sets. With a team that good, you can’t afford a lot of errors, and they forced us into errors and not playing our game. In the end, we ran out of steam,” Head Coach Sarah Kelley said.

Annaleigh Fischer and Jessa Ann Dubose tied for the team lead with 10 kills each in the win at Greenville. Olivia Cravey tallied 22 assists, and Mallory McGlamory notched eight digs.

Taya Newton paced Andalusia with 12 kills against Brewbaker Tech, and Destini Hourel added five kills. Cravey had 15 assists as Hourel garnered four blocks.

Andalusia will end the regular season in a tournament at Goshen on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play Eufaula at 9:30 a.m., Samson at 10:30 a.m., and Goshen at 12:30 p.m.
