Meredith’s Miracles has announced the launch of its 2024 “Be the Miracle” End of Year Campaign, a crucial fundraising effort aimed at providing travel assistance to families with critically ill children. With a significant increase in the number of children requiring help this year, Meredith’s Miracles is turning to the community for support to ensure that every child receives the life-saving care they need.

Between January and June of 2024, Meredith’s Miracles has already assisted 355 children — this number has never been this large before. In 2023 for the whole year we assisted 276 children. This sharp increase highlights the growing need for the vital services Meredith’s Miracles provides. Currently, the organization is funding an average of 121 medical trips per month, amounting to $23,000 in travel assistance. As the year draws to a close, an estimated $92,000 is needed to continue this life-saving work through the end of December.

“Our mission has always been to ensure that no child is left behind due to the inability to afford travel for medical care,” said Kiley Spears, Executive Director of Meredith’s Miracles. “This year, the need has grown beyond what we could have anticipated, and we are asking our community to step up and help us be the miracle these children and their families desperately need.”

The “Be the Miracle” campaign encourages donors to contribute to this essential cause, reminding them that their support directly translates to real, tangible miracles for children and families in need. The funds raised will go toward covering travel expenses such as flights, gas, lodging, and other necessary costs, allowing families to focus on their child’s health rather than the financial burden.

To kick off the campaign, Meredith’s Miracles is sharing the stories of the children they’ve helped this year, highlighting the powerful impact that donor support has had on these families.

“We’ve seen firsthand the difference a miracle can make in the lives of these families,” Spears added. “But we can’t do it alone. We’re calling on our community to join us, to be the miracle, and to help us reach our goal so that every child gets the chance they deserve.”
