Andalusia Ballet sets 2024-25 season with ‘Brillante’ theme for 42nd year

Andalusia Ballet has announced its 42nd Brillante season to share the rich, varied, and inspiring art of dance with the community.
The season opens with the traditional holiday favorite “The Nutcracker.” Children of every age are sure to delight as the Stahlbaum family’s glorious Christmas party gives way to their daughter Clara’s dreams of a Nutcracker Prince battling a Rat King and her visit to the enchanting Kingdom of the Sweets. Performances will be on Dec. 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 14 at 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. at the Dixon Center for the Performing Arts.
Andalusia Ballet invites everyone to join them on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. for Valentine Dances. See the company dancers express their artistic visions in individual pieces and together amaze us in the highly anticipated Cupid Finale!
Spring Into Dance will be held April 4 and 5 with a festival celebrating dance. Kick off the weekend with Dancin’ on the Square on April 4 offering a chance for everyone in the community to come together and learn a fun dance with one of the ballet’s visiting artists. On Saturday afternoon at Andalusia City Hall for Principal Presentations, an opportunity to meet and learn more about the principal quest dancers, Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia. Spring Into Dance culminates with a free performance Saturday, April 5, 7 p.m., at the Dixon Center showcasing Andalusia Ballet along with a diverse group of visiting dance companies from around the region. A performance by principal guest artists Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia of the New York City Ballet will highlight the evening.
May 3 and 4 bring “Cinderella” to the Dixon Center stage. Hilarious stepsisters, glass slippers, and happily-ever-after make this one of the most loved ballets of all time.
And finally, join Andalusia Ballet at the Dixon Center for Spring Showcase on May 30 and 31. Celebrate the enthusiasm of youth and enjoy the treat of movement, color, and variety of dance forms as students from the Academy at Andalusia Ballet display their talents for the community.
