ReAct Theatre & Arts announces auditions for its first stage play of the 2024-25 season.
Robert Fulghum’s books are the basis of “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” a play with music. Auditions are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 9 and 10, at 6 p.m., at the Church Street Cultural Arts Centre. Those auditioning will be provided a portion of the script to do a cold read from with a chance beforehand that evening to read and prepare.
“Kindergarten” is an ensemble piece with a small cast. The age is limited to 18 years and above, with both male and female roles. Rehearsals will begin a week or two later and will be primarily on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.
The production is scheduled for Nov. 15 through 17 at LBWCC’s Dixon Center for the Performing Arts in Andalusia.
“Kindergarten” is a heartwarming drama/comedy conceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia. It is theatrical storytelling in revue format, with monologues, dialogues, and multiple voice narration celebrating our existence from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age.
“Both the experienced and unexperienced actor is encouraged to audition. You are also invited to come even if you are just interested in receiving more information about ReAct Theatre or have an interest in trying out for future productions,”
ReAct representatives said.
Those attending are asked to use the rear entrance of the Centre where someone will be in place to guide guests to the audition space.
