The Andalusia Ballet will auction packages for sports, hunting, travel, art, and dining enthusiasts when it hosts “Paint the Town Red,” its annual Auction/Dinner Benefit on Saturday, August 24, at the Church Street Cultural Arts Centre.
The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m,, during which members of the Andalusia Ballet’s Senior Company will perform.
A seated dinner will follow at 7 p.m., and auctioneer Jason Sasser will take the floor to open the live bidding at 8 p.m. An after-party which will continue until 10 p.m. follows the auction.
Local artist Roger Powell illustrated this year’s “Paint the Town Red” auction theme. The auction artwork is among the items which will be sold.
This year’s bid packages range from a beach vacation to trips to New Orleans, Broadway and Nashville.
Other bid packages include, but are not limited to: a half-day quail hunt; private dance lessons; an oil portrait by Vicki Popwell; a little girl’s birthday party that includes the venue, birthday cake, and entertainment by Andalusia Ballet’s ballerinas; jewelry from Christopher’s Diamonds & Fine Jewelry; Iron Bowl tickets; an original watercolor floral; and several packages featuring food, fine wines, and cigars.
Proceeds support the Andalusia Ballet’s mission to bring the art of dance to the community, which it does through its training, performances, and outreach programs which include school performances, Discover Dance Days and AIM High, a free movement class for boys.
Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased online at www.andalusiaballet.com, or in person at the Ballet or from board members. For additional information, contact the Ballet at 334-222-6620.
