The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to tee off its annual golf tournament.

The Chamber Classic Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, August 27, with tee-off times scheduled for 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Andalusia Country Club. The flighted four-man best-ball scramble event will feature several prizes, including $400 for the first-place team, $200 for second place, $75 for the closest to the pin shot, and $75 for the longest drive. A putting contest sponsored by All In Credit Union will allow participants to win a Scotty Cameron Super Select Newport 2 putter.

Participants will also be allowed to purchase chances to win a $1,000 prize in the Kubota Golf Ball Drop. J.M. Tickets are available at the Andalusia Chamber. J.M. Jackson Chevrolet Inc. is the hole-in-one sponsor; the winner receives a car.

“The Chamber Golf Classic is our only fundraiser,” said AACC Executive Director Mellisa King. “All the funds raised go directly to the community through our programs and events. Our members look forward to this fun day of golf and networking, and they enjoy being outside on our beautiful Andalusia Country Club golf course. The tournament also lets our membership get to know our board members and the chamber staff a little more. There’s always great food, prizes, and giveaways.”

To top it all off, someone will walk away with a $1,000 cash prize from the Golf Ball Drop Contest. Ball drop tickets are available for $10 each.

“Give us a call to purchase one of these tickets, and we will bring it to you. We have 500 tickets and need to sell them all,” King added.

The deadline for team entry is Monday, August 19. Each entrant will receive 18 holes of golf, a cart, a catered lunch, and a Chamber Classic welcome bag.

Sponsorships are available for purchase until Friday, August 16.
