Madeleine Stricklin, 95, of Luverne, Alabama departed this life Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Luverne Health and Rehab Center in Luverne.

Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 12, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wesley Hatcher officiating. Committal services will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Mrs. Stricklin was born on August 6, 1928, in Blakely, Georgia. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a master quilter, which she shared with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oneal Stricklin; two sons, Dennis and Dow Stricklin; parents, Bryant and Lucille Cain; two sisters Jeanette Whitton and Francis Ellis; and one grandson Lee Dean.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy and Leon Dean; her two grandchildren, Amy Dean-Baumgartner and Dow Stricklin; great-grandchildren, Aaron Baumgartner, Caleb Baumgartner and Joshua Dean; great-great-grandchildren, Lyla Baumgartner, Blayke, Baumgartner and Asher Baumgartner; several nieces and nephews; and many beautiful memories that will be cherished.
