In a heartwarming testament to perseverance and dedication, LBWCC Adult Education students Amelito “Jerry” Armonio and his wife, Elizabeth Armonio, have successfully passed the United States Naturalization test, becoming proud American citizens.

The couple began their journey toward citizenship in the fall of 2023, studying English and U.S. Citizenship on the Andalusia campus. Under the guidance of Adult Education Instructor Jennifer Nevins, Jerry, and Elizabeth attended English Language Acquisition classes. Nevins expressed immense pride in their accomplishments.

“The dedication and commitment required to pass this test is commendable and not everyone is up for the challenge,” she said.

Balancing full-time employment at Wayne Farms, LLC, with their studies, the couple demonstrated exceptional resilience.

“It wasn’t easy,” Jerry admitted, “but with the classes and materials provided by LBWCC, it was possible.”

The Armonios utilized a comprehensive Plan of Instruction that included virtual programs, bookwork, videos, and materials from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Their hard work and determination paid off, leading them to achieve their American dream.
