Gillis Edward “Eddie” Ralls Sr., born on June 23, 1951, passed away on July 18, 2024, following a tragic accident on his farm. Eddie was a respected community member, a dedicated small business owner, a farmer, and a loyal friend. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eddie’s love for life was evident in how he spent his time. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed traveling, flying his airplane, and caring for his animals, especially his beloved dogs. He was always there to support his family, friends, and neighbors.

Together with his father, Grady Ralls, and his brother, Grady Lynn Ralls, Eddie co-founded Grady Ralls and Sons Construction. This family business remains well-respected and trusted throughout Alabama, a testament to Eddie’s hard work and dedication to preserving his family legacy.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Mari Lynn Ralls; his siblings, Grady Lynn Ralls, Carol (Joel) Pate, and Rosemary (Taylor) Harper; his children, Gillis Edward “Gil” Ralls Jr. (Amanda), Mandy (Ryan) Johnson, and Cass (Michael) Pate; his stepson, Reo Kirkland (Ashley); and his grandchildren, who will miss their “Pop,” James and Addison Ralls, Aubrey and Cade Pittman, Gracie, Ella, Lily, Maddie, Grady, and Vivian Johnson, Owen and Brody Pate, RJ, Brynleigh, and Clark Kirkland, Arlee and Carson Stabler. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their uncle.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Juanita Ralls, and his sister-in-law, Willodean Ralls.

A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held at Eddie’s home church, Brooklyn Baptist Church on County Road 6 in Brooklyn, Alabama, on Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. Brother Waylon Stuckey and Dr. Ryan Johnson will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home in Andalusia.
