Mrs. Wilma Dean Jacobs, 89, of Andalusia, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jacobs will be held on Monday, July 1, 10:30 a.m., at the Carolina Baptist Church Family Life Center with Brother Jack Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Carolina Baptist Church Family Life Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Adams of Andalusia; her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Jacobs (Cathy) of Andalusia; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Stallings (Larry) of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Chris Adams (Natasha), Lee Adams, Brian Jacobs (Michelle), Beth Colvin (John), Amy Rolling (Heath), Stacey Martin (Ron), Ashlie Odom (Shane); 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Lawson (Charles), Esther Barrow; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Jacobs, her granddaughter, Kimberly Jacobs Sasser, and her son-in-law, Larry Adams.
Mrs. Jacobs started Dean’s Cake House in 1994 and became affectionately known as “Miss Dean, the Cake Lady.” She and her business became well known and were featured in numerous magazines, newspaper articles, and television segments. Miss Dean received awards from state, county, and city officials, including one from Governor Kay Ivey for having produced one of the top products in the state of Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Chris Adams, Brian Jacobs, John Colvin, Reid Adams, Shane Odom, and Ron Martin.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Carolina Baptist Church, 17745 Rockhole Bridge Rd, Andalusia, AL 36420 in memory of Mrs. Wilma Dean Jacobs.
