Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Yesterday was my third anniversary since I started at the Andalusia Star-News. It seems like only yesterday I was walking in that Monday morning ready to learn a lot, yet here I was walking in Friday morning three years later ready to grow even more.

During my senior year of high school, our class prophecy predicted me as USA Today’s editor. It must have been a sign from the Lord due to my current position as our only writer. After all, He knows us better than anyone on Earth.

According to our website, I have written over 1,200 articles covering a wide variety of topics in three years. I have no intention to brag on myself but am proud of my accomplishments thus far. I never imagined all the free writing at Straughn for 10 years would propel me into this position, but it came in God’s timing.

Yesterday was a day to reflect on what has been and keep moving forward as I write on and learn even more. I’d like to thank my publisher Robert and my other coworkers Ruck, Lisa, and Chris for their continued support and encouragement. The sky is the limit, and I’m going to keep looking up daily.

Thank you also to everyone who has and continues to support this journey. It means a lot and fills me with joy and pride. The time has come for this staff writer to kick off year four with all glory to God!
